A: Users who have installed a local license plate recognition system, ACS, or similar systems understand that an internet disconnection is a much less critical issue compared to a suddenly disconnected local server designed to protect against internet failures. Our system operates on modern equipment housed in reliable Yandex.Cloud data centers. It features multiple redundancies and is centrally maintained by our expert team of programmers and engineers. Our platform can handle hundreds of IP video cameras, dozens of facilities, and process tens of thousands of vehicle passes daily. This means that to ensure uninterrupted operation, you only need a standard wired internet connection from a reliable provider and a backup access method, such as a GSM module. We take care of the rest to provide you with the best possible service.
A: Our license plate recognition module is among the best on the market, capable of reading even heavily soiled plates. However, please remember that driving with dirty or unreadable license plates is illegal.
A: Yes, if the connection is stable, a 4G internet connection is acceptable. However, we recommend using a wired connection for optimal performance.
A: On average, license plate and special vehicle recognition, as well as the subsequent opening of barriers, takes between 2 to 3 seconds.
A: Our company, Automatic Barriers LLC, was founded in October 2013 and has been operating successfully since then. We have been developing the FaceNPlate platform since 2024.
A: In theory, yes. However, in practice, we do not recommend it because these two tasks are different, and versatility can compromise quality. It’s like trying to use a smartphone both as a camera and a gaming console—it might work, but one function will always perform better. Recognizing special vehicles requires an isometric view where the entire vehicle or most of it is visible, whereas license plate recognition needs a close-up of the plate. Additionally, recognizing plates at night requires activating specific modes, such as compensation for headlight glare.
A: Depending on the connected services and the facility’s rules, clients can grant guest access in two ways. They can independently open the gate using, for example, a GSM module. Alternatively, if license plate recognition is enabled and the client is on the authorized list, they can use our Telegram bot to send the guest’s vehicle number. The barrier will automatically open to allow the guest through once and will close upon their exit.
